Laura Burucoa's outdoor project
8 Jul. — 12 Jul. 2024
Media and information artistic workshop in partnership with the médiathèque Roger-Gouhier
“When you want to know the latest news, where do you go?”
Artist Laura Burucoa offers four 3-hour sessions to discuss and experiment with the writing, broadcasting and reception of what we call the news. As a reference or case study, participants draw on a corpus of texts (print media, Twitter, web media), sounds (radio news, podcasts) and videos (TV news, Twitch, Tiktok).
To put these ideas into shape, they use radio, a medium that artist Laura Burucoa is particularly fond of. Behind the microphone, radio lets you put yourself in other people’s shoes simply by speaking out, or on the contrary, without exposing yourself too much. Together, they produce a podcast, the content and editing of which are designed collectively.
Laura Burucoa (born in 1994) works and lives between Paris and Romainville.
A 2018 graduate of HEAR Strasbourg, her work focuses on ways of transmitting knowledge and stories. Her tools include video, performance, radio, writing, sewing and modeling. The spaces of sharing and co-creation are of particular interest to her as she develops projects inspired by popular and critical pedagogies.
