Épatez La Galerie !
Exhibition of projects outside the walls and workshops
24 Apr. — 11 May 2024
Each year, La Galerie presents an exhibition reflecting the artistic and educational projects conceived by artists with residents of Noisy-le-Sec and beyond.
This season, the artists Sarah Nefissa Belhadjali, Réda Boussella, Charlotte EL Moussaed Guerra, Cécile Hadj Hassan, Loreto Martínez Troncoso, Laure Wauters, Léna Araguas & Alaric Garnier, La Martiennerie, and the association Formes & fonctions have imagined exhibition visits and workshops, in dialogue with La Galerie team and other structures. From the shortest format (a few hours) to the longest project (several months), each proposal has been designed with an attentive eye to its context of emergence, and in relation to the exhibitions “Corps–poésie” by Tomaso Binga and “A7EBAK COME BACK” by Réda Boussella.
“Épatez La Galerie !” reflects the desire to revisit these workshop moments, based on a variety of artistic practices and universes, and to see the work that emerged from them displayed in the spaces of La Galerie. It’s an opportunity to highlight, for the duration of an exhibition, these daily activities of the art centre.
“Épatez La Galerie !” is part of the Projet Educatif Global initiated by the city of Noisy-le-Sec, which aim to set up an educational policy for this area. It’s goal is to lead babies, children and young people, taking into account the different stages of their lives: family, school, after-school, free time, holidays and everyday life.
The exhibition also demonstrates the city’s commitment to making artistic and cultural education accessible, awarded the 100% EAC label by the Ministère de la Culture and the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale et de la Jeunesse.
Each Saturday, 2:30pm – 4pm (except for school holidays)
Free workshops, registration required
The intervening artist Sarah Nefissa Belhadjali proposes to explore several plastic techniques related to the exhibition.
