Residency: Lina Bani Odeh

15 Apr. — 31 May 2025

For the 3rd edition of the Chemin des affinités program, La Box, galerie de l’École nationale supérieure d’art de Bourges, le Centre d’arts plastiques Fernand Léger à Port de Bouc et La Galerie, centre d’art contemporain de Noisy-le-Sec are collaborating to host and support the Not So Private project by artist Lina Bani Odeh.

Lina Bani Odeh lives and works in Bethlehem. With a degree in visual arts from the International Academy of Arts in Palestine, she has developed her artistic practice in Palestine and on the international scene. She has exhibited at the Al Ma’mal Foundation and Walled Off Gallery in Palestine, Lebanon and France. She has also collaborated as a project manager or curator with major Palestinian cultural institutions, such as Dar Jacir for Art and Research, the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center and Qalandiya International.

Her project Not So Private explores how our environments – private and public – shape our behavior, emotions and identities. Through immersive research, observation and the practice of painting and drawing, Lina Bani Odeh will record moments of comfort, discomfort, solitude and connection in various urban landscapes and social contexts reflecting the atmosphere of the three territories encountered on the Chemin des affinités.

She is in residence on Chemin des affinités from April 15 to May 31, 2025 at La Galerie, centre d’art contemporain de Noisy-le-Sec.

Chemin des affinités – a collaborative itinerant residency program is organized by Arts en résidence – Réseau national with the support of the endowment fund La Petite Escalère.
